SUMMARY:Veterans Day Concert
DESCRIPTION:Medina:  The Medina Community Band\, under the baton of Marcus Neiman\, conductor; John Connors\, associate conductor; and\, Matthew Hastings\, assistant conductor will present their annual Veterans Day Concert – “Celebrating the Patriots” – on Wednesday\, November 13\, at 7p\, at St. Francis Xavier Church\, 606 East Washington Street\, Medina. There is no admission charge for the program and free parking is available. \nMedina Community Band will perform John Wiilliams’ March of the Resistance (from Star Wars the Force Awakens)\, with Marcus Neiman\, conducting.  Neiman will also conduct Leonard Bernstein’s Allegretto from Symphony No. 7 (arranged by Robert Longfield); and Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree With Anyone Else But Me (Les Brown and arranged by David Seiberling) and featuring Lu Ann Gresh\, Marcia Kline\, and Lorna Lindsley on trumpet.  Associate conductor John Connors will conduct John Williams’ Hymn to the Fallen (from Savings Private Ryan); Kenneth Alford’s Eagle Squadron March; and Frank Ticheli’s Shenandoah.  Matthew Hastings\, assistant conductor\, will conduct Captain America from the motion picture of the same name\, written Alan Silvestri with bandstration by Michael Brown.. and The Stars and Stripes Forever).    \nFeatured trio – (left to right) – Lorna Lindsley\, Lu Ann Gresh\, and Marcia Kline \nIn addition\, there will be a special patriotic salute to those who have/are serving in our armed forces that will include an Armed Forces Salute; Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever; and\, Irving Berlin’s God Bless America. \nMedina Community Band is sponsored by the Medina Community Band Association composed of members of The Medina Community Band who proudly supports the community band. \nFeatured speakers will be: Captain Stacey Sadowski\, company commander\, United States Army\, Medina Recruiting Company and Chief Warrant Officer Eric Houchens\, United States Army (retired).  \nOrganizers will have boxes available for those interested in making a donation to collect nonperishable canned goods or monetary donations to benefit the Saint Vincent DePaul Society.
